FAQs

General FAQs

Do you take insurance?

Cardiolucent does not accept payment from health insurance or Medicare. Cardiolucent provides a “superbill” for services rendered, and patients can submit those to their insurance company for reimbursement or submit the expenses toward FSA or HSA amounts.

Are labs included in Cardiolucent plans?

Cardiolucent will submit all lab work to your insurance on your behalf. Conventional and routine labs are typically fully covered by insurance. Any billing for lab tests will originate from the laboratories, and coverage depends on your insurance.

How is Cardiolucent Concierge Cardiology different from a traditional cardiology practice?

At Cardiolucent, we ensure you receive the time, focus, and attention you deserve to deliver the best possible care. Dr. Kedan’s care model begins before you arrive for your appointment. We collect your medical records and history ahead of time, and Dr. Kedan prepares for your visit by reviewing your information before he sees you. When you’re in our office, appointments are private, unhurried, and start on time. You’ll have plenty of time with Dr. Kedan to review your history and any diagnostic test results, complete a comprehensive examination, perform an interactive POCUS examination, discuss your goals and concerns, and formulate a personalized assessment and treatment plan. After each office visit, any new and updated information and data are incorporated into your updated treatment plan.

Do you provide hospital visits?

Hospital coverage at Cedars-Sinai Hospital is available for members of the Cardiolucent practice.

How do you communicate and coordinate care?

Cardiolucent has an extensive network of colleagues, specialists, and imaging centers that are well-known and have direct contact to coordinate your care. We have a fully integrated electronic health record and communicate widely locally, regionally, nationally, and, in some cases, internationally to coordinate your care.

What medical record is used at Cardiolucent?

Cardiolucent is fully integrated with the Cedars-Sinai medical record and shares data with all physicians and care-providing teams within the Cedars-Sinai Health System. We have access to all other linked electronic health records from systems that are integrated with the Cedars-Sinai system. All records can be viewed locally, regionally, and nationally. For out-of-state patients or patients seeking additional care at other major tertiary and quaternary health systems, records can be viewed using the Epic Community Link (including Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, Stanford, Johns Hopkins, Providence Health Systems, Kaiser Health Systems, and hundreds more)

How do I prepare for my office visit?

Bring loose-fitting clothes with a separate shirt and pants and a sports bra for female patients. We have gowns just in case. This will help with ease of examination and POCUS imaging. Fasting for 4 hours prior to your office visit will allow for the most optimal examination.

Providing as much health history and medical records (lab data, imaging data, notes and reports from prior medical examinations, digital files, and images, etc.) in advance of your office visit will allow for a more comprehensive review and preparation prior to your appointment.

Can I arrange for in-home or private office access care options?

Yes. Please call us to learn more about at-home and exclusive care with fully private access to our office.

How can I obtain POCUS images acquired during my office visit?

For optimal image transfer, please bring an iOS device like an iPhone or iPad for seamless AirDrop of de-identified images. If you do not own an iOS-enabled device, then our office can email de-identified images for HIPAA compliance.
